REASONS WHY ADOPT A PET

You may still be undecided, contemplating whether you will adopt a pet or not. We’ve listed some reasons to help you decide – “You cannot change a dog’s past, but you can rewrite his future!”

Animal shelters and rescue groups are brimming with happy, healthy pets just waiting for someone to take them home.  We’ve listed some reasons why you should adopt instead of the shop if you plan to add a new fur baby as a member of your family:

  1. You can save lives.  Animals at a shelter have been lost, given up, or abandoned, they need a second chance. You are giving them a new life, a new home! You’ll help save the lives of two animals by Adopting a pet from a shelter/rescue group – the pet you adopt and a homeless animal that can be rescued because of the space you make available.  A great number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them.
  2. You’ll have a new fur buddy! Saving a life will change yours.  Most pets end up homeless through no fault of their own, they have so much love to give – and they won’t ever stop giving it to you once you let them into your heart! You’ll have a confidante, a pal, and ultimately—a beloved family member. Pets have been shown to be psychologically, emotionally, and physically beneficial to their companions. You can support a valuable organization. You help break the cycle of pet overpopulation. Shelters improve the community by mandating/enforcing for adopted animals to be spayed or neutered, this diminishes chances of unwanted animals. You’ll never have to go it alone.  Shelters and rescue groups can provide you advice on making your relationship with your pet. You also encourage others to adopt animals from shelters.
  3. You’re giving second chance to a deserving animal. You truly give them the keys to start anew in a life where second chances can often be hard to come by.
  4. It’ll cost you less. Usually when you adopt a pet, most of the times spay/neuter and first vaccinations were already given by the shelter/rescue groups.
